About Gordon Wildlife Alliance

Gordon Wildlife Alliance is a not-for-profit, fully volunteer-run group based in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. The organization specializes in wildlife conservation, environmental advocacy, wildlife rescue, and support for wildlife carers and shelters in the Central-West of Victoria, around the regional centre of Ballarat. It was founded in 2022 to address the endangerment of the local Koala population due to timber logging, road trauma, and habitat destruction. Since then, it has expanded to support volunteer rescuers, carers, and shelters in the region, extending from 50kms west of Ballarat to Ballan in the east. The members of Gordon Wildlife Alliance are all volunteers, often with full-time jobs outside of wildlife rescue and animal welfare. Our latest project focuses on protecting the local Koala population from habitat destruction and road trauma. We are working with local councils, landowners, and community groups to create wildlife corridors and safe zones for Koalas to thrive. We are also providing training and resources for wildlife carers and shelters in the region to ensure that injured or orphaned Koalas receive the best possible care and rehabilitation.
